Greta Van Susteren Wonders If We Even Need A Super Bowl Interview With The President

Fox News Host's Awesome Response To O'Reilly's Interview With Obama

Fox News may have scored an interview with President Obama on Super Bowl Sunday, but the network's own Greta Van Susteren wasn't that excited about it.

In fact, the host wondered if the interview was really necessary right before the big game. "Don’t you think it odd that there is an interview of the President about news in the middle of the SuperBowl?" Van Susteren wrote in a blog post on Monday. "With all the ‘stuff’ that goes on in the world, I want a few minutes off….I want something light…something maybe just about sports. Maybe a high light [sic] reel of great moments in football?"

Her colleague Bill O'Reilly, who sat down with Obama, might beg to differ. Van Susteren continued, "I don’t blame Bill O’Reilly for doing the interview – I would have loved to do it – but I wish President Obama would have agreed to do the interview at another time and for a longer period of time."

O'Reilly and Obama sparred about health care, Benghazi and the IRS on Sunday, as part of an annual tradition where the president gives a pre-game interview to the network airing the Super Bowl. Prior to the interview, O'Reilly had talked about his plans for it, saying it would be hard to keep his conversation with Obama "short."
