Hologram-Wielding Intruders Abducted Woman, Man Claims

The guy's story seemed a little one-dimensional.

A 53-year-old man from Florida's Martin County told deputies late last month that intruders had abducted his wife with the assistance of "holograms," TC Palm reported Thursday.

The man, whose name has not been released, was "extremely agitated" and holding a baseball bat when officials arrived. He told them that "the men" abducted his wife and that "they used holograms to project signals on the walls to get him to do what they wanted and to communicate with each other," according to a sheriff's report.

The responding deputy located the woman in question, who was at a nearby mobile home with the man's aunt. The aunt told investigators that the woman was drunk, and that no one had chased her.

Officers searched the couple's home and also patrolled the area nearby, but according to the report, "no criminal activity [was] associated with this call."

The property's manager said that the last time sheriff's deputies visited the trailer was when the couple was on methamphetamine. The man was patrolling around with a gun, while the woman sat in the road saying she was digging for gold. The manager also said she was planning on evicting them soon.

This is by no means the weirdest claim that someone has made to officers. Last year, a man who lost his car told deputies that extraterrestrials stole it, according to the Times Reporter.

In 2012, a man charged with domestic violence claimed that a ghost was the one who punched his wife.
