As blogger Joe. My. God. points out, the Scissor Sisters headlined Sochi's Red Rocks Festival in 2012, a year before the "gay propaganda" law took effect.
The Associated Press is reporting that Russian police detained 10 lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights activists in Moscow on the opening day of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Meanwhile, four LGBT activists were reportedly arrested in St. Petersburg after allegedly unfurling a banner quoting the Olympic Charter's ban on discrimination, according to reports.
