Washington Post religion reporter Sally Quinn claimed that "Religion is a sure route to true happiness" in an opinion piece-- but is that really the case?

They discussed the idea of timeless happiness, of satisfaction found in a belief in the divine, as well as the more earthly benefits of religion.

Quinn's article cited the work of psychology professor Catherine Sanderson, who asserts that the sense of meaning and purpose engendered by religious belief, as well as the community support, increases tangible happiness.
