Walter Mondale Recovering After Heart Surgery

Former Vice President Walter Mondale is recovering after undergoing heart surgery, WCCO and Minneapolis Star Tribune report.

Mondale's procedure was performed at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. According to WCCO, Mondale is expected to make a full recovery.

Mondale's surgery comes days after the death of his wife Joan, who passed away at the age of 83 on Feb. 3. Vice President Joe Biden, former President Jimmy Carter and their spouses Jill and Rosalynn joined Mondale to pay tribute to Joan at a memorial service on Feb. 9.
