What Does Mindfulness Look Like In Spain?

WATCH: Spain Turns To Mindfulness

We know mindfulness is catching on in a big way in the United States, but what about other parts of the world? Bodhin Philip Woodward, who founded the Solterreno mountain retreat in Spain, joined HuffPost Live's Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani to share what the mindful movement looks like in his country.

The last 20 years have seen "huge changes" in Spain, including an employment crisis that has put a mass of young people out of work, which Woodward said has forced people to re-evaluate what they've planned to do with the rest of their lives.

But there's a silver lining.

"The positive of any crisis, whether it be of a society or an individual, is it forces change," he said. "They have to change. They can't carry on with the old ideas, so they're finding things like mindfulness -- and lots of other things, as well -- as very useful ways of addressing that personal change."
