Dating after a divorce can seem like a daunting task. But author Delaine Moore embraced it. She turned her sexcapades into a steamy memoir, The Secret Sex Life Of A Single Mom, which is now becoming a Lifetime movie.

Moore recently joined HuffPost Live to discuss her book, divorce and dating life.

"I was married for 7 years and my family meant absolutely everything to me. We had three kids back-to-back: boom, boom, boom. And then life got complicated -- marriage got tough," Moore explained to host Nancy Redd. "Next thing you know, there was infidelity in the picture on his side and then on my side. And suddenly I was spat out into this unexpected singlehood, and I had no idea how to navigate it."

Moore said that she was extremely unsure of how to get back into the dating world after her divorce.

"What are the rules? All of a sudden, to be 37 and single again, and hearing about this online dating thing, and like what am I allowed to do? What should I do? So it was basically a year of exploration, as I was also sort of piecing my heart--and my life--back together again," she said.

While her book focuses on her romantic life, Moore spends most of her time as a mom. "I don't write about what's going on 95 percent of the time, which is, I'm being a stay-at-home-mom and caring for my kids."

But she realized that she needed to start dating in order to be a better, more focused mother. "I just knew that I was so broken that I wasn't able to present with my children anymore. It was like I was there, but I wasn't extracting the same kind of joy from it anymore. And I knew that I needed to sort of re-find my own happiness if I was ever going to come back to them to find fulfillment again."
