Female Professional Football Player Proves She Can Take Major Hits In Her Debut (VIDEO)

Posted: Updated:

Jennifer Welter is believed to be the first professional female football who wasn't a kicker or holder to play with men when she joined the Indoor Football League's Texas Revolution in January.

And boy did she prove she can take a hit!

Standing at just 5'2" and weighing in at 130-pounds, the 36-year-old women's football player was welcomed this weekend when she played running back in her first appearance on the Revolution field.

Watch Welter take three big hits on each of her carries, but get up from each as quick as they come. Though her stat sheet might not reflect her toughness, it sure does not go unnoticed. Although Welter hasn't officially made the team, the action she saw this weekend could be a precursor to some more time on the field.

"I said, 'Is that all you got?'" Welter told the 6'4'', 245-pound Cedric Hearvey after he delivered a tremendous hit. "I didn't want them to think I was intimidated."
