Dane is a great dad who acts as a father figure to many of the neighborhood kids who appreciate and look up to him. To show how much they care, his friend and family turned Dane's dark, dull den into a tropical getaway with the help of Soleil Moon Frye and the "Home Made Simple" design team.
Before
To turn this boring den into a beachy retreat, the team covered the dated popcorn ceiling, brightened the room with a fresh coat of paint and created a bar area for Dane.
After
"Dude, no way!" Dane exclaims when he sees the room. Personal touches are everywhere, including a DIY chandelier made out of wax paper and a custom shelf backing created from a photo taken by Dane's daughter.
Amy, Dane's friend, says no one deserves this makeover more. "You're not only a wonderful father to your kids, but to mine as well -- and every other kid who needs a dad," she says.
