Memorial Set Up Outside 'Ghostbusters' Firehouse [UPDATE]

New York City Fire Department personnel at Hook & Ladder 8 did not pay tribute to Harold Ramis by hanging up a sign from "Ghostbusters II" outside their firehouse, this despite a widely circulated tweet.

The tweet in question, which appeared on Reddit and was posted by The Huffington Post, is below:

The famed Tribeca location was used as home base for Ramis' Dr. Egon Spengler and the other Ghostbusters in "Ghostbusters" and its 1989 sequel. Both films were co-written by Ramis, who died on Monday at the age of 69.

While that memorial was merely of the photo variety, an actual remembrance of Ramis was set up outside Hook & Ladder 8. The fan-made memorial featured a photo of Ramis in "Ghostbusters," flowers and a package of Twinkies, a reference to one of Spengler's monologues in the film.

This post has been updated to reflect that the original tweet was not current.
