Keith Olbermann Did Not Watch MSNBC For More Than A Year While He Was Working There

Seriously, Keith Olbermann?

Keith Olbermann admitted Thursday that he hasn't watched MSNBC since 2009. What's interesting about that-- he left the network in 2011.

The former MSNBC host told Talking Points Memo that he could not comment on a popular segment from "Morning Joe" because he has not watched in nearly four years.

"I don't know anything about this as I've never watched [Joe] Scarborough's shows," Olbermann wrote in an email. "I stopped watching MSNBC in 2009."

Olbermann parted ways with MSNBC after the unexpected cancellation of his show, "Countdown" in early 2011, which would mean that he was not watching his own network for more than a year before he left. Choice words made by MSNBC's former president Rick Kaplan about Olbermann suggested that the split was not made in good terms.

Olbermann teased about doing other things rather than watching MSNBC back when Lawrence O'Donnell's 8 PM show took over his time slot, but apparently he wasn't kidding.
