Obama Faces 56 Percent Job Disapproval Rating: Gallup Poll

As President Barack Obama moves forward on his 2014 "year of action," a new poll shows disapproval of the president's performance is rising.

Gallup's Friday job approval poll showed Obama facing a record-high 56 percent who disapprove, compared to 40 percent who approve. The poll was conducted among 1,500 adults and consisted of a three-day rolling average from Feb. 26 to Feb. 28.

HuffPost Pollster's latest poll chart on Obama's job approval rating fell in line with Gallup's findings. As of Saturday afternoon, a compilation of 2,482 publicly available polls showed 42.9 percent approve of the job the president is doing, compared with 52 percent who disapprove.

According to that poll chart, the last time the president faced such high disapproval was September 2011, when concerns about the economy were at a fever pitch.

Correction: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that HuffPost Pollster's latest chart had Obama at a 49 percent approval rating. It is in fact 42.9 percent.
