Canadiens' Dale Weise Took Skate To The Face & His Teammate Tweeted A Photo Of The Aftermath

PHOTO: Gruesome Aftermath Of NHL Player Taking Skate To Face

Canadiens winger Dale Weise suffered a nasty cut and left some blood on the ice after taking a skate to the face in the third period against the Maple Leafs on Saturday night.

Weise and Toronto's Nazem Kadri got tangled up going for the puck in the Maple Leafs' zone. As Weise fell and slid into the boards, Kadri's skate caught a piece of him. The 25-year-old Weise managed to get off the ice under his own power and even returned to the game, per CBC Sports.

The team said that the cut on the upper lip required "about a dozen" stitches, per Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette. After Montreal won in overtime, Weise's teammate George Parros tweeted a photo of the aftermath and it did not look pretty.
