How Governor Butch Otter's Moment Of Movie Stardom Was Tainted By Softcore Porn

Idaho Gov. Butch Otter (R-Idaho) thought he was appearing in a Western film. What ended up happening appears to be way more than he bargained for.

The Idaho Falls Post-Register reported Friday on how Otter had a 1993 deal to be in a film called "Roundup." By 1997 (R-rated) and 2003 (unrated), the movie had morphed into a flick named "A Time To Revenge," with several full-frontal nudity sex scenes in the unrated version.

Otter spokesmen Jon Hanian and Mark Warbis told the paper that the governor was in three fully-clothed scenes, and the nude ones were not a part of the original script that he signed on for.

“We don’t know that the same people making it when the governor was involved in it had anything to do with the product that got on the street," Warbis said. We don’t know what happened to it."

On Monday, Otter officially announced that he was running for a third term as Idaho governor, highlighting his commitment to "holding firmly to Idaho's conservative values." According to his official site biography, the governor was finishing up his 30-year business career in 1993, and a member of Congress by 2003.

Copies of "A Time To Revenge" on Amazon range from $9.32 (used) to $29.95 (new). Watch the film trailer above.
