Apparently There's A Ferrari Theme Park Coming To Spain

Why go to Disney Land when you can pack your bags and go to Ferrari Land?

The famed Italian sports car maker, which has already opened a Ferrari World theme park in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is planning to open a Ferrari Land theme park in 2016 in Spain.

Ferrari says the 46.6-square-mile park will be located inside the PortAventura resort, just outside Barcelona. It will be home to a Ferrari-themed five-star hotel and a huge vertical roller coaster, which the company claims will be the “highest and fastest” in all of Europe.

Ferrari does not yet have details about the speed or height of the forthcoming coaster. PortAventura is already home to Europe's tallest roller coaster, the 249.3-foot Shambhala. So at least we know Ferrari will have to top that.

Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, noted for being the world’s largest indoor theme park, has the world’s fastest roller coaster, the Formula 1-themed Formula Rossa, which reaches its top speed of nearly 150 mph in under 5 seconds.
