Watch Nirvana Bassist Krist Novoselic Cover Lorde's 'Royals' On Accordion

Certain songs capture the zeitgeist in a way that transcends genres. "Let It Go" is an obvious example, and now so is Lorde's "Royals," which has also spawned endless covers: a capella, Pentatonix, bluegrass, Bruce Springsteen, Mayer Hawthorne and, as of this past weekend, accordion.

But not just any old accordion -- Nirvana bassist and co-founder Krist Novoselic's accordion. The 48-year-old rocker performed an instrumental version of "Royals" during a March 9 show in Maryland. If you're surprised to hear that, don't be: apparently the accordion is Novoselic's "obsession."
