These #McConnelling Videos Take Mitch McConnell's Latest Ad To A Whole New Level

We'd like to thank Jon Stewart for bringing #McConnelling to the world.

On Thursday's episode of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show," Stewart put out a call for viewers to take the latest campaign ad from Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) -- which features the Senate Minority Leader smiling at the camera in a series of awkward shots -- and give it a new soundtrack. Stewart used Simon and Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence" and The Who's "Behind Blue Eyes" as excellent examples of how funny a new twist on the ad could be.

Top McConnell aide Josh Holmes tweeted about the trend:

McConnell's campaign even tried to get in on the action, encouraging supporters to make "parodies of Mitch in classic movies and TV shows" and posting some of the best on the campaign website.

But the internet had better responses. See some of the best below:

"In Your Eyes"
"Wrecking Ball"
"Popular"
"F**k You"
"(I've Had) The Time Of My Life"
"P.I.M.P." (Uncensored)
"Only Time"

UPDATE: Faiz Shakir, Senior Adviser for Digital Media for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), tweeted his #McConnelling video Friday afternoon:
