"The Real L Word" star Romi Klinger said she was worried about encountering social hostility before she came out as bisexual on the show.
She told HuffPost Live that she had both negative and isolating experiences after coming out as bi.
"As far as people wanting to be there and be supportive for lesbians or gays, there isn't a lot of support [for bisexuals]," Klinger told HuffPost Live. "There's a lot of confusion with bisexuality, where I'm just crazy, or I'm insane and I'm confused."
She added, "Having that thrown at you all the time just because of the fact that you love both sexes and you're open to both of them -- it's really hurtful... If you're not even accepted within the community or outside of the community, you don't really know where your place is."
