New York City's Mayor Wears An Afro

If you've ever wondered how New York City's mayor would look with an Afro, your musings became reality at the annual Inner Circle Show on Saturday.

Mayor Bill de Blasio donned the hairdo for the City Hall tradition that invites members of the media to roast the mayor, invoking his teenage son's now-famous style to poke fun at himself for charity.

After appearing in a campaign ad for his dad last August, Dante de Blasio's Afro gained national attention and became a symbol for his father's progressive policies.

President Barack Obama even showed love for Dante's Afro at a fundraising event.

"Although I have to confess, my Afro was never that good," the President said. "It was a little unbalanced."

In November, TIME Magazine named Dante the sixth most influential teenager, beating out Justin Bieber and Malia Obama.

For his Inner Circle debut, De Blasio had plenty of material to work with, satirizing his hallmark tardiness and recent decline in approval ratings.

The mayor was also joined by Steve Buscemi and Cynthia Nixon, both of whom were early supporters of his mayoral bid last year.
