Pat Robertson Compares Gay Relationships To Abortion, Recalls Days When LGBT People Would Be Stoned

Pat Robertson is at it again.

The conservative evangelist, who was named "Bigot of the Year" at the 2013 Stonewall Awards, took to "The 700 Club" this week, where he argued that Jesus Christ wouldn't have served same-sex couples because they would have been stoned to death instead, as Right Wing Watch first reported.

"What would have happened in Jesus’ time if two men decided they wanted to cohabit together, they would have been stoned to death,” Robertson said. "So Jesus would not have baked them a wedding cake nor would he have made them a bed to sleep in because they wouldn’t have been there. But we don’t have that in this country here so that’s the way it is."

Robertson, of course, didn't stop there, comparing same-sex relationships to abortion, in that "both of them deny the reproduction of human species."

Robertson was sounding off on Colorado's Masterpiece Cakeshop case, as well as other incidents in which same-sex couples were turned away by the owners of bakeries and other wedding-related venues after seeking cakes and services.

Although he received an order forbidding him from turning away lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) customers by a local judge, Masterpiece Cakeshop owner Jack Phillips has said he'd rather go to jail than prep a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.

Robertson, of course, is no stranger to anti-LGBT declarations. In the past, he has claimed that LGBT nondiscrimination ordinances will put Christians in jail, and stated that gays are just straight people who have "forsaken God." And who could forget his desire for a "vomit" button on Facebook so he could express his feelings surrounding LGBT-related posts?
