Police are investigating the gruesome death of a 21-year-old woman found with multiple gunshot wounds in Indianapolis on Friday.
A neighbor said she saw Shannon Kleeman's body after hearing screams from the victim's sister, according to Fox 59.
"They mutilated this child," Treva Bryant told RTV6. "What I saw I will never forget, and it will take me months or years for me to get that image out of my mind."
The discovery of Kleeman's body led Bryant to conclude that loud noises she'd heard earlier in the morning were gunshots.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police said they're treating Kleeman's death as a homicide and, though she was shot several times, a cause of death hadn't been determined over the weekend, WISH-TV reports.
Reports differed with some accounts stating that Kleeman was found in the home she shared with her mother. Other reports stated that detectives believe it was her stepmother's home.
