Former NFL MVP Kurt Warner Is 'Very Cautious' When It Comes To His Kids Playing Football

Kurt Warner Explains Why He Lets His Kids Play Football

Two-time NFL MVP Kurt Warner won't forbid his children from playing football but he remains concerned about the dangers of the sport.

"As a parent, I'm not discouraging it, but I'm also very cautious about it. I'm a guy that is always looking for the best protection out there," Warner said on HuffPost Live. "As a parent, I'm always watching out for things. If anything happens and they kind of look at me funny or they tell me their head hurts, those kinds of things that I'm monitoring because I know enough about it. Because I played. So I'm just always trying to stay ahead of the game."

Warner, 42, retired after the 2009 season and is raising seven children with his wife, Brenda.
