'Game Of Thrones' Reimagined As A 1970s Sitcom Is Genius

What If 'Game Of Thrones' Were A Sitcom?

What if "Game of Thrones" aired as a 1970s sitcom? Life in Westeros would've had a few more laughs.

Garrison Dean and io9 reimagined the fantasy-based, gore- and sex-filled drama as a surprisingly wholesome sitcom in the "magical" land of Westeros where the "royal families have come together to compete in a joyous celebration to determine their new king."

Other noticeable differences from the real "GoT": Joffrey actually seems pleasant, Jon Snow smiles, and -- our favorite -- Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is credited as Nick Waldo. The shoddy camera work, plucky background music and perfectly-timed audience laughter make us wish a "GoT" sitcom really did exist.

"Game of Thrones" returns Sunday, April 6, at 9 p.m. EDT on HBO.
