Greta Van Susteren defended her first television home on Tuesday in a blog post bashing recent critics of CNN.

The Fox News host, who began her television career at CNN, applauded the network for its non-stop coverage of the missing Malaysian plane as they have become a major target of media critics in the last month.

"I guess I am the only one defending CNN on this one," Van Susteren said in a blog post Tuesday. "I support CNN on their extensive coverage."

Despite the network drawing serious criticism over some of its comments about the plane, Van Susteren said that those comments are just "dopey" things. She argued that CNN's reporting has been "extremely powerful" and instrumental in furthering the world's search for Flight 370.

"Do you really think, if CNN had not done so much coverage, with its big platform, that Malaysia, Australia and even our own country would have gone the extra mile looking for that flight?" she asked. "I don’t. I think they would have given up a long time ago."

Van Susteren gave a sort of backhanded compliment to the network when she addressed the criticism that CNN is only covering the plane to increase its ratings. The network did in fact see a ratings hike in March-- the month that its obsessive coverage began.

"I get the ratings every day at 4pm and CNN’s ratings just aren’t that good," Van Susteren said. "If the ratings were so great from this coverage, everyone would be doing this topic, not just CNN."
