Boston Mayor Marty Walsh Talks Increased Security For This Year's Marathon

Boston Mayor On This Year's Marathon: 'We're A Little More Alert'

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh joined HuffPost Live on Monday to discuss the heightened security at this year's Boston Marathon.

"We have a lot of safety measures put in place for [the marathon] next Monday," he told host Marc Lamont Hill.

"Boylston Street is kind of the main street where [fans gather to see] the runners and the marathon -- it's about eight blocks on Boylston Street. We're going to be having checkpoints to get into the closing line of the finish line. We're gonna have police presence on the streets. We're gonna have undercover presence in the crowd. We're gonna have bomb-sniffing dogs -- things that we had last year, except this year we're a little more alert."
