Internet, meet Stuart Little, the tiny kitten who made an incredible recovery.
When a good Samaritan delivered a litter of kittens in very bad health to Fabulous Felines Rescue NWA -- a nonprofit cat rescue organization in Bentonville, Ark. -- there seemed little hope that they would all survive. The smallest of the litter was in such bad condition, with severe eye infections, malnourishment and a flea infestation, that volunteers thought he was already dead, according to the Fabulous Felines Rescue NWA's Facebook page.
However, this determined little runt clung to life and surprised everyone with his impressive recovery. He's now 8 months old and has been adopted by Amanda Rhea, one of the volunteers at the organization.
"When Stuart's brothers and sisters starting getting adopted, I realized for the first time how attached I was to the little guy," Rhea told The Huffington Post in an email. "He'll probably always be smaller than average, but who knows? Maybe he'll surprise me with a growth spurt soon."
