George Stephanopoulos has signed a new deal to stay at ABC News.

TV Newser reported the news Thursday. Stephanopoulos, who hosts "Good Morning America" and "This Week," will continue his role at the network. His contract was set to expire at the end of the year.

"Good Morning America" is currently the number-one network morning show, while "This Week" has beat "Meet the Press" in the ratings for three quarters in a row. Stephanopoulos' new deal also secures some stability for "GMA," which recently saw the departure of Josh Elliott and promoted Amy Robach and Lara Spencer to the role of co-host.
