This Couple Is Proof That Your Marriage Can Survive Infidelity

When Nancy Anderson was 24, she cheated on her husband. But instead of leaving the marriage, Nancy's husband took quite an interesting position.

"When my wife confessed to me that she had an affair, it was a wake-up call, and it really was a second chance of how to make our marriage work," Ron Anderson told HuffPost Live's Alyona Minkovski. "But I think the conclusion I came to real quickly was whatever I was doing was not working and whatever she was doing was not working to make the relationship fulfilling."

For more than a year, the couple went through both individual and couple's counseling, which refueled their desire to create and maintain a healthy and functional relationship.

"Then we made it our life’s journey after that to figure out all the tools we needed to have in our arsenal to have a successful marriage," Ron said. "I think that was the main thing -- it was a wake up to say, 'You’re doing it wrong, there’s a right way to do it, seek out the answers and you can have a good relationship.'"
