Matt Damon 'Thrilled' For George Clooney And Fiancee Amal Alamuddin

Here Are Matt Damon's Thoughts On George Clooney's Engagement

Matt Damon might be pushing 10 years of marriage with wife Luciana Barroso, but his pal George Clooney was deemed Hollywood's Bachelor after he stated numerous times that "I do's" were not for him. All that changed when Mr. Clooney got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend of six months, Amal Alamuddin, last month.

So how does Damon feel about Clooney's change of heart?

“I'm just thrilled that he met Amal and that they're as happy as they are," the actor gushed about his "Monuments Men" co-star to Closer Weekly. "He deserves it.”

As for what he thinks about Clooney's bride-to-be, Damon told People, "Anyone who has met Amal isn't surprised, and we're all really excited for him."

Clooney first stepped out with the British human rights lawyer in October 2013, a few months after his split from Stacy Keibler. And although he insisted to Esquire that he "wasn't very good at [marriage]," it seems Alamuddin has had a major effect on him. As for Clooney's thoughts on kids, Damon kept mum on that subject.

“You gotta ask him that one," he told Closer. "I don’t know.”
