Puig Crashes Into Wall Trying To Make Game-Saving Catch

Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig was injured after throwing his body into the wall as he tried to make a game-saving catch in the bottom of the ninth inning on Sunday.

With two outs and the go-ahead run at third base, Miami's Jeff Baker hit a line drive to right field. Puig raced back and made a leaping attempt, but he missed the ball and violently crashed into the fence. To make matters worse, the ball bounced off the wall and hit Puig in the face before he landed hard onto the warning track. The play resulted in a walk-off double and the Marlins went on to win 5-4.

The Cuban slugger was attended to by the team trainers before walking off the field. Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reported that a concussion test on Puig was negative and his status was day-to-day.
