Sarah Palin On Waterboarding: Someone Needs To 'Look Up What It Means To Baptize'

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) further clarified her statement that "waterboarding is how we'd baptize terrorists" in an interview with Mario Lopez for "Extra."

"It's really perplexing to me to contemplate someone not doing everything they could to foil a plot that would result in murdering innocent Americans," Palin said in the interview that was published Wednesday.

When pressed by Lopez about how others are reacting to her use of the name of a sacrament, Palin said, "Someone needs to get to Webster's Dictionary and look up what it means to baptize."

"That means to submerge, it means to dunk," Palin said. "As for that, you know, the sacredness of the term even baptism, I have such a great respect for it as a born-again Christian."

Palin also discussed Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling's recently leaked racist comments, which led to him being banned from the NBA.

"The fact that he said what he said is atrocious, and it's so passé, man, that is so un-American," she said.

Lopez asked Palin if former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's upcoming role as a grandmother will affect Clinton's candidacy if she runs for president in 2016.

"It will broaden her worldview ... Just knowing that her daughter, Chelsea, is pregnant with a baby! It's a real baby, you know! It's not some disposable something," said Palin, who is a grandmother herself.
