Boy Battling Cancer Gets 2,000 Birthday Cards From Around The World, Can't Stop Smiling

What's better than one birthday card? Two thousand of them, of course.

And few know that better than Max, a young boy in Boston, whose friend, Bennett, was diagnosed with leukemia two years ago. As part of an effort to make Bennett's birthday a bit more special, reports WCVB, Max went on a mission to give him 1,000 birthday cards.

With the help of a Boston organization Max started with his mom, called Catching Joy, which aims to "teach kids the joy of giving," Max was soon receiving handmade birthday cards for Bennett from as far away as France and Japan, ultimately ending up with more than 2,000 cards -- twice his original goal.

A video of the reveal, captured by WCVB, shows Max's mom holding a massive bag of cards, handing them to Bennett one by one. "I don't think I can hold all these!" Bennett says with a laugh.
