Janeane Garofalo Comes Out In Defense Of Pubic Hair

There's been much ado lately about pubic hair, from Cameron Diaz's "Body Book" to Lady Gaga's "au-naturel" Candy Magazine cover. Janeane Garofalo recently weighed in on the subject -- and she is decidedly pro.

During UCB Comedy Theatre's weekly standup show, "Whiplash," Garofalo argued that women should embrace a "thatch on their maidenhead." She makes some solid -- and hilarious -- points about the importance of pubic hair, mentioning that pubic hair is "like your eyebrows, but different.”

Despite the fact that pubic hair serves a distinct health purpose, Garofalo pointed out that 80 percent of women under the age of 35 remove it.

Is pubic hair really the eyebrow of the vagina? It's hard to say, but who's splitting hairs?

To see more of Garofalo's set, check out Splitsider Presents' standup movie "A Night At The Whiplash," which features sets by Jared Logan, Michael Che, Sheng Wang, Carmen Lynch, Eugene Mirman and Sean Patton. You can download the full movie here for only $5.
