Brazil's Vale Do Pati Is The Perfect Escape

Brazil's Vale Do Pati Is The Perfect Escape

With soccer fans counting down the days to the FIFA World Cup and Brazilians busy getting facitilies ready for the 2016 Rio Olympics, the country is on major hosting duties for the next few years. While waves of fans begin to take over the bigger cities, why not venture somewhere a little less crowded, like Bahia, Brazil?

Vale do Pati, a delightfully isolated spot, can be found in Chapada Diamantina National Park and it is definitely worth a visit. A photographic wonderland, this beautiful nature reserve is home to less than 100 people and is accessible year-round.

Have a look!

Visitors are invited to stay with local families when they visit, or camp on the grounds themselves.

We like this guy's style. WAY better than a simple selfie!

Motorized vehicles are banned, so hikers can trek to the lovely waterfalls by foot (just watch for the occasional loose stone!)
