A substitute teacher is in trouble after allegedly talking to kids about the men that she like likes.
Cassandre Fiering, 45, was fired from New York City's P.S. 189 in December for allegedly acting out dating scenarios with 4th grade students and asking them for advice on her love life, according to DNA Info.
In a report obtained by multiple media outlets this week, Department of Education investigators wrote that on June 13, 2013, Fiering had students role-play conversations in which they would pretend to be her, and she would be one of the men she was dating.
“Fiering told the students that she was dating two men who were in their thirties and she needed advice on which one to choose,” the report stated, according to the New York Daily News.
The report also alleges that she asked the kids to toilet paper a man's house, and that she touched the thighs of two students and the shoulder of another.
Fiering has vehemently denied ever touching any children, but according to DNAInfo, Fiering admitted asking the kids for love advice:
“The kids were saying, ‘Oh, we’re your counselor,’” Fiering recalled. “They were excited to have me listen to their advice....They were saying all kinds of things, trying to help me because this guy was being a jerk to me.”
However, she told both the New York Daily News and the New York Post that the situations she discussed with the kids were all "theoretical."
“I gave abstract examples of different types of relationships, sometimes someone likes you and you don’t like them back, or sometimes someone isn’t so nice to you,” she told the Post. "It was all very G-rated."
The sub also noted that she was in the classroom "for 7 hours without a lesson plan" and that there were only four kids present, since the others were away on a field trip.
She is appealing the termination.
Fiering, who also works as an actress and an interpreter, had been employed by the Department of Education since March 2013.
