'Pulp Fiction' Premiered 20 Years Ago

Further, unceasing proof that we're old: On May 21, 1994, Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction" debuted at the Cannes Film Festival. That anniversary -- the first of two for this film this year, as it was released in U.S. theaters on Oct. 14, 1994 -- has provided many with an early opportunity to revisit Tarantino's enduring masterpiece. In an A-to-Z remembrance of the film for Rolling Stone, David Fear wrote that "Pulp Fiction" was "a gamechanger and a modern classic." Over at Indiewire's The Playlist, the staff compiled a list of 17 "Pulp Fiction" copycat films, while noting that Tarantino's second feature "remade" the landscape of Hollywood. Both of those pieces are required reading for "Pulp Fiction" fans, but if words aren't your bag on the Friday before a holiday weekend, we're happy to provide some flashback photos to Cannes 1994. Check them out below.
