Macaulay Culkin's The Pizza Underground Booed Off Stage In Nottingham

Macaulay Culkin's Band Attacked On Stage

Macaulay Culkin had a rough Memorial Day weekend when his Velvet Underground tribute band, the Pizza Underground, got doused in beer and booed off the stage during a performance at the Dot to Dot Festival in Nottingham, England.

According to reports, Culkin yelled to the audience, "Why are you throwing those? I'd rather drink them." Culkin and his bandmates then cut the set short and walked off the stage after just 15 minutes, the Nottingham Post reported. Festival organizers told the local paper that the incident was "such a shame."

The band tweeted their disappointment after the show:

The Pizza Underground had played in Bristol the night before, also part of the Dot to Dot festival. Though they didn't get doused in beer, it looks like they were booed off the stage from the footage below (via Pitchfork).

Recently, the Pizza Underground was announced to be part of the Riot Fest lineup in Chicago. Let's hope the Windy City is a little more hospitable.
