Brooke Deterline, CEO of Courageous Leadership, joined HuffPost Live on Tuesday to share the advice she gives to those seeking her council in hopes of successfully navigating the workplace.

"Get people who you trust [and] role-play the conversation," she continued. "If you practice with some level of fear or adrenaline, it creates the muscle memory so that when the actual moment arises you can take mindful, compassionate action over avoidance or lashing out."
