The princess and her husband Prince Albert II released a joint statement Friday in which the couple revealed their "immense joy" over the news. This is the couple's first child together, and will serve as the heir to Monaco's throne. The two are no strangers to media controversy, mostly over the length of time they waited to have children (they wed in 2011), so hopefully this news will put the scrutiny to rest.
Charlene is already a sweetheart in the fashion world, starring on countless magazine covers and sitting front row at Fashion Week. So we can't wait to see how she dresses up her blossoming belly over the course of her pregnancy.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
