Man Walks Into Sidewalk Cellar, Hurts Himself, No One Helps (VIDEO)

WATCH: This Man Lived Our Nightmare

What happened to this man could happen to anyone living in a city, such as New York, where there are giant sidewalk cellars that even slightly distracted pedestrians can fall into.

CBS New York has this unidentified victim's story.

As CBS 2’s Jessica Schneider reported, surveillance video captured in broad daylight showed the man walking east on 119th Street just west of Second Avenue, and heading straight for the open cellar doors.

The man did not maneuver out of the way, and instead ran right into the open doors, fell forward, and tumbled straight into the basement below.

He was rushed to a hospital on Monday where he was treated for a head injury.

The station reports that the property owner is liable for these types of injuries. It's unclear who that person or entity is.

New York City has also been plagued by unkempt and sometimes dangerous sidewalk sheds.

And as if hazardous sidewalk cellars and sheds weren't enough, sometimes sidewalks just collapse under people's feet.

Please be careful out there, pedestrians.
