Desperate times call for peculiar measures. Isn't that what they say?
In an effort to stay alive and stay afloat, a fire ant phenomena that can only be described as a living raft was caught on camera in Houston, Texas last week. The event came after a heavy downpour in George Bush Park and was filmed by Steve Kim.
According to National Geographic, the technique is a way to keep the queen ant safe. Sometimes, though, the ants simply set themselves up as an easy meal for predators.
