ATLANTA, June 6 (Reuters) - A sheriff's deputy was shot in the leg on Friday at the courthouse in Cumming, Georgia, and a suspect in the incident was dead, WSB-TV news reported.

The deputy's injuries did not appear life-threatening, the station said.

Reuters could not immediately confirm details of the incident with local police and sheriff's officials.

The courthouse, about 40 miles northeast of Atlanta, was evacuated and remained closed as police searched for possible explosives, the station said.
