HBO is about to corner the market on kids who need to do last-minute book reports.
Darren Aronofsky, director of hugely successful films like "Black Swan," 'Requiem for a Dream," "The Wrestler" and "Noah," is developing a new book adaptation for the premium cable provider, according to Deadline. Aronofsky will serve as executive producer and possibly as director for the new drama series "MaddAddam."
The series will be an adaptation of the Margaret Atwood’s novels "Oryx and Crake," "The Year of the Flood" and "MaddAddam." It is just the latest book adaptation coming to HBO, which is also home to "Game of Thrones" and the upcoming series "The Leftovers."
The narrative follows various characters struggling to live in a dystopian society where corporations have taken over for governments (which would probably be scary unless that corporation was Taco Bell. A Gordita Supreme Court would guarantee justice and delicious tacos for all.).
