Dave Coulier On The 'Remarkable' Staying Power Of 'Full House' (VIDEO)

Posted: Updated:

It's been nearly two decades since the series finale of "Full House" aired on television, but it's hard to forget the beloved family sitcom. From that catchy theme song to Uncle Joey's classic "Cut. It. Out" line, the show has lived fondly in fans' memories through the years.

But "Full House" hasn't just lived on in our minds. Dave Coulier, who played Uncle Joey, highlights an amazing fact about the series during his appearance on "Oprah: Where Are They Now?"

"We have not gone off the air since 1987, which in itself is remarkable," Coulier says in the above video.

"Full House" has been running in syndication ever since the 1995 finale. Even with its past and present popularity, Coulier says that no one involved in the show can exactly pinpoint why people are so drawn to it.

"There's something in the Kool-Aid with 'Full House,'" he laughs. "We have no idea what it is but it really has had staying power."

Not only that, but Coulier speculates that the show is bigger now than ever.

"I think it's more popular now than it's ever been!" he says.

Below, Coulier appears on HuffPost Live alongside "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" executive producers Jill Van Lokeren and Julie Simpson to talk more about the episode. Host Caroline MT asks Coulier if he ever comes across "Full House" while flipping through the channels late at night and decides to crack open a beer and watch. "Do you know how drunk I'd have to get in order to watch a full episode of 'Full House' at this point?" Coulier responds as everyone laughs. "No, I'm just kidding." Coulier also reveals the origin of his "Cut. It. Out" line during the below interview.

The season premiere of "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" airs this Sunday, June 8, at 9 p.m. ET on OWN.
