World's Tallest Climbing Wall Opens On The Side Of A Nevada Hotel

No longer must you acclimate on Everest to get some serious climbing elevation.

Welcome to BaseCamp, a larger-than-life rock climbing park with the world's tallest artificial climbing wall, at a staggering 164 feet.

The massive wall is built into the side of the Whitney Peak Hotel in Reno, Nevada.

At the newly revamped BaseCamp park, brave souls will scale the side of the hotel on their choice of color-coded foothold tracks. When they reach the top, they'll enjoy views of the snow-topped Sierra Nevada Mountains -- similar to the view on a real rock summit.

Those too fearful for the hotel's outdoor rock wall will have a 7,000-square-foot indoor bouldering park to explore.

The new BaseCamp made its grand opening recently, along with the rest of the Whitney Peak Hotel. Harness up, climbers!

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this post stated Reno was "not far" from Las Vegas. If you plan to hit Sin City after your climbing adventure, be advised that Las Vegas is about a seven-hour drive away.
