It was almost a decade ago when Dave Chappelle rattled the comic universe by walking away from "Chappelle's Show," leaving a reported $50 million dollar contract on the table without an explanation.

Rumors ran wild. Some claimed he couldn't handle the pressure, others said Oprah and a secret society were somehow behind it, but the most popular rumor of all was that Chappelle went crazy.

On Tuesday, Chappelle opened up to David Letterman about why he left his Comedy Central show and what he regrets. You can watch an edited version of the interview above, or the entire 14 minutes below.
