Move over, Barbra Streisand and Cher: the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community has a new crop of icons on their mind in 2014.

Gay social app Jack'd users ranked Michael Sam, who made history as the first openly gay football player to be drafted into the NFL, as the top gay icon of the year in a new poll. Rounding out the top ten list were rapper Iggy Azalea, President Barack Obama, transgender "Orange is the New Black" star Laverne Cox and "Looking" hunk Jonathan Groff.

“With Pride season now upon us, we thought it was important to understand what inspires our community in 2014,” Jack’d CEO Adam Segel said in an email statement. “It appears that in 2014, the pantheon of gay icons is changing just as rapidly as the culture at large. It’s great to see that Michael Sam, the NFL’s first openly gay player, is a source of pride for so many young gay men.”
