As if falling short in the 2014 U.S. Open by a distant 15 strokes wasn't enough of a bummer to start Rory McIlroy's week, it appears the 25-year-old golfer currently has another cross to bear: airline travel.

While flying back across the pond in preparation for this week's Irish Open, McIlroy landed in Dublin to find that his clubs hadn't joined him. Anyone among us who's felt the frustration of lost luggage can empathize.

To United's credit, they were on top of the problem almost immediately.

It's so nice to see an airline company using social media toward positive ends for a change. McIlroy's quest to take his first Irish Open begins Thursday.
