This Dude Makes Proposing At Bonnaroo Look Pretty Damn Romantic

John Ferreira knew he wanted to propose to his girlfriend Catherine Mauro at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival after the two attended last year and absolutely fell in love with the experience.

"It's one of the few places on earth where you can just remain in the moment instead of worrying about work or bills," he told HuffPost Weddings of the Manchester, Tenn. festival. "There is just an overall sense of freedom there, it's just magical."

Six months ago, Ferreira turned to his friends on Reddit for help with the proposal. And help they did -- all the way from conception to execution. Below, he explains how it all went down:

  • Jennifer Henley
"With the group that I met [on Reddit], we start to hand out flowers and this flyer."
  • Jennifer Henley
"This beautiful man begins playing 'Dead Sea' by The Lumineers."
  • Jennifer Henley
"People start to hand her flowers."
  • Jennifer Henley
"I get down on one knee. The flowers keep coming and she still doesn't see me. I'm shaking like crazy."
  • Jennifer Henley
    "She notices."
  • Jennifer Henley
  • Jennifer Henley
    "She says 'yes.'"
  • Jennifer Henley
"I love the guy cheering in this picture."
  • Jennifer Henley
"Tears and hugs from good friends."
  • Jennifer Henley
"Thank you everyone who helped out. You made a dream come true and we will never forget you."

And like the courteous festivalgoer he is, Ferreira made sure to pop the question early on so that no one who was helping out would have to miss any of the weekend's main events. Good call, Ferreira.
