It's official, England is out.
The Three Lions have been eliminated from contention at the 2014 World Cup before even playing their final match of the group stage. After two losses in as many group-stage games in Brazil, England's fate was sealed when Costa Rica defeated Italy in another Group D clash on Friday.

England was defeated 2-1 in its opener against Italy and then dealt another heartbreaking 2-1 defeat by Luis Suarez and Uruguay in its second outing. Roy Hodgson's uneven side will finish its trip to Brazil with a game against Costa Rica on June 24. Even with a lopsided win, England cannot advance. This disappointment marked the first time that an England team which had qualified for the World Cup failed to advance out of the group stage since 1958.

Expectations may not have been especially high for this England squad when it arrived in Brazil, but disappointment and disapproval were still prominent in the reactions to the elimination on social media.
The whole low expectation thing didn't help then. Getting knocked out still feels shit!

What`s the difference between #England and a tea-bag?

Embarrassing. The country with the most lucrative league in the world just can't produce a decent national team. Something has to change.

I like Roy Hodgson, but if you're England manager for our worst ever World Cup campaign, you resign or get fired. End.
